Ame-Glaze Lidded Cups, Pair — Rim Drip, Knob-Lid, Tiered Foot

This pair of lidded cups is thrown in a rounded, tiered silhouette — a bulging mid-body that steps down into a narrower waist before flaring out again to a stable footring. Both piece and lid share the same soft oatmeal-white glaze, with a warm amber-brown "ame" (candy-glaze) drip running around the rim and pooling unevenly — a classic two-glaze layering technique where the darker iron glaze is brushed or dipped only at the edge before the lighter base glaze is applied beneath. Each domed lid is finished with a small turned knob in the same rich brown glaze, echoing the rim color and tying the two-tone palette together. The underside of each piece — both cup and lid — shows a neatly trimmed footring left partly glazed with the same amber tone, with visible spiral throwing marks at the center.
