Boat-Shaped Serving Bowl — Hand-Painted Red Blossom Motif, Cream Crackle Glaze
This asymmetric, boat-shaped bowl features a soft, slightly grainy cream glaze over loosely hand-painted coral-red floral sprays, accented with small dabs of soft green for leaves and buds. The brushwork is quick and gestural rather than precise, giving each piece a lively, one-of-a-kind character typical of hand-decorated folk tableware. A fine crackle and light speckling run through the glaze, a natural result of the glaze and clay body cooling at different rates. The rim rises to two pointed ends rather than a continuous curve, and the bowl sits on a small, neatly turned footring left partially exposed. A cobalt-blue mark is stamped on the base.
