Carved Vertical Fluting, Ash-White Glaze Mug

A hand-thrown stoneware mug with a gently waisted, hourglass-like profile, carved with deep vertical fluting that runs from just below the rim down to the foot. A matte, ash-white glaze pools softly into the grooves, where the exposed dark clay shows through as a series of fine brown lines — creating a strong ribbed, almost fluted-column texture across the whole body. The rim is left with a thin dark glaze edge, and the pulled loop handle is glazed to match the body. The foot is a neat unglazed ring in a warm reddish-brown clay, with the pale stoneware body visible in the centre — a deliberate contrast to the white exterior.
