Hagi-Yaki Katakuchi Pouring Bowl - Pink Blossom Glaze

A charming hand-thrown katakuchi (片口) — a traditional Japanese pouring bowl — crafted in the Hagi-yaki tradition and finished in a soft, semi-matte “pink blossom” glaze that breaks into warm peach and blush-toned mottling where it pools thinly over the clay body. The glaze surface shows subtle pinholing and texture typical of hand-application, with visible spiral throwing lines beneath — classic hallmarks of Hagi ware’s soft, porous glaze surface. A small, whimsical rabbit motif is hand-painted in cobalt blue at the center of the interior. The glaze stops short of the base, revealing an unglazed, deep rust-brown iron-rich stoneware body with a stamped maker’s seal within the footring.

Traditionally used for pouring sake, sauces, or batter, this katakuchi is equally lovely as a decorative bowl or catch-all — the pinched spout and hand-painted rabbit give it real functional charm, while the Hagi glaze offers warmth and subtle color variation prized by collectors.
