Japanese Hand-Painted Grape Vine Mug, Cobalt & Iron-Brown.
A hand-thrown Japanese stoneware mug with a freehand grape-vine design painted in cobalt blue and dark iron-brown, sitting on a lightly speckled, warm-toned clay body. The interior rim carries a simple cobalt band. Handle is a small hand-pulled loop, slightly asymmetrical, consistent with individual studio-potter work rather than factory production.
Unglazed footring shows the raw stoneware body and reveals a painted character mark inside the base, likely the potter’s signature or kiln mark.
