Kiyomizu Kyo-yaki Matcha Chawan by Ryoji — Hand-Painted Rapeseed Flower Design, Original Box
A Kiyomizu Kyo-yaki matcha chawan by the artist Ryoji, hand-painted with clusters of yellow rapeseed flowers (nanohana) in warm gold and ochre tones, accented with green leaves and loose gestural brushstrokes suggesting wind or motion across the ivory-glazed body. The interior features a small white floral resist pattern at the center. The bowl has a softly ribbed, hand-thrown texture, a warm brown-toned rim, and an unglazed footring with an impressed circular Ryoji mark. Comes in its original fitted presentation box with maker’s card.
Kiyomizu-yaki is Kyoto’s celebrated ceramic tradition, known for refined hand-painted decoration — this bowl’s loose, seasonal floral motif is characteristic of that style, well suited for tea ceremony use or display.
