Mino-Karatsu Teacup — Painted Foliage Motif, Iron-Brown Dripped Rim
A rustic, hand-thrown teacup in the Mino-Karatsu tradition, with a soft, irregular faceted body under a milky, straw-white feldspathic glaze. A dripped iron-brown (oxide) band coats the rim, thinning to a rust-gold edge — a signature Mino-Karatsu treatment. Underglaze cobalt-blue and iron-black brushwork sweeps across the body in loose, gestural leaf and vine strokes, characteristic of the free, folk-style (mingei) decoration associated with this ware. The footring is unglazed, with a small blue leaf mark brushed inside.
