Bizen-yaki by Touko Konishi Yunomi Teacup — Wood-Fired, Hidasuki Fire Markings
Bizen-yaki by Touko Konishi Yunomi Teacup — Wood-Fired, Hidasuki Fire Markings
This yunomi teacup is Bizen ware by Touko Konishi, showcasing the dramatic natural firing effects of the anagama kiln. No glaze is applied — the deep charcoal-grey and reddish-orange “hidasuki” flame markings result entirely from ash and direct flame contact during the long wood-firing process, leaving each piece with its own unique pattern. The rim shows a soft grey-blue tone where ash settled most heavily, fading into rich burgundy and black across the body.
