Japanese Mini Katakuchi, Set of 4 - Two-Tone Glaze, Footed Pouring Bowls
A set of four mini katakuchi (small pinched-spout pouring bowls), each hand-shaped with a soft pinched lip on one side for pouring. Two-tone glaze runs from a pale cream/sand tone at the rim down into a deep, mottled brown at the exterior and base, with visible glaze pooling and speckling. Each bowl sits on a raised footring in unglazed stoneware. One base carries an incised mark near the center.
Katakuchi bowls are traditionally used for pouring sauces, dressings, or sake, and double nicely as small individual serving or condiment bowls.
