A Japanese studio ceramic tumbler, hand-thrown with a tapered, footed form and carved diagonal line decoration spiraling around the exterior. Finished in a soft speckled ivory glaze that pools into a warm rust-brown tone at the rim and base, where the clay body shows through, giving the piece a naturally weathered, ash-glazed look.
The unglazed footring reveals the pale stoneware clay beneath. A tactile, well-balanced piece with a satisfying carved texture underhand. Please see photos for exact condition, including any surface wear or glaze marks.
