A Japanese ceramic teacup and saucer set, hand-painted with a red camellia flower and grey leaves on a soft ivory crackle glaze. The cup has a slightly bell-shaped body with a footed base and a rolled unglazed rim edge, while the matching saucer carries a coordinating branch and leaf motif in a warm brown iron pigment. Fine glaze crazing runs throughout both pieces, giving them a soft, aged texture characteristic of this hand-painted style.
The saucer’s base is stamped with a small maker’s mark. Please see photos for exact condition, including glaze crazing and any wear consistent with age and use.
