Mino-yaki Rice Bowls, Set of 2 — Hand-Painted Peony & Persimmon Motifs, Swirled Grey Glaze
Mino ware is one of Japan’s oldest and most versatile ceramic traditions, originating in Gifu Prefecture and historically supplying much of the country’s everyday and tea-ceremony ware.
This pair showcases lively, hand-painted underglaze decoration — a soft pink peony blossom on one bowl and a persimmon-and-leaf motif on the other — set against a rich navy and sage-green ground. Inside, both bowls share a hypnotic swirled grey glaze, echoing the potter’s wheel marks.
