Tsuboya-Yaki Okinawan Pottery Mugs, Hand-Carved Leaf Design
Tsuboya-Yaki Okinawan Pottery Mugs, Hand-Carved Leaf Design
Japanese Tsuboya ware mugs from Okinawa, hand-thrown with a tapered body and carved diagonal line (tobikanna-style) decoration running around the exterior. Each mug is hand-painted with a bold green leaf and vine motif accented with a small blue and orange swirl, set against the incised striped background. Finished in a warm cream glaze with a darker brown rim line, the interior glazed in a soft olive-yellow tone.
One mug carries a commemorative inscription on the base, referencing an Okinawa sightseeing/tourism association gathering, indicating it was produced as a keepsake or souvenir piece. Please see photos for exact condition, including any surface wear or glaze marks consistent with age and use.
