Tsuboya Ware

Tsuboya-yaki (壺屋焼) is a traditional pottery style originating from the Tsuboya district of Naha, Okinawa, dating back over three centuries. It is known for its earthy clay bodies, thick glazes, and motifs drawn from Okinawan nature and folklore.

Often hand-painted, each piece carries the irregularities and warmth typical of Okinawan craftsmanship, making it a distinctive addition to any collection of Japanese ceramics.
