Dishes & Plates
Sara (皿) is the general term for flat or shallow serving ware in Japanese tableware, ranging from small side plates to larger platters used for entrées, appetizers, and shared dishes. Their broad, open shape makes them a versatile counterpart to the deeper bowls used elsewhere in a Japanese table setting.
Each piece in this collection is secondhand and showcases a range of regional kilns, glazes, and hand-painted motifs — including sometsuke (blue-and-white) and other traditional patterns — bringing understated character and craftsmanship to everyday dining.
